We’re less than two weeks from the regular season opener for the University of Iowa soccer team, and the Hawkeyes will start the 2025-26 season with a national ranking.
The United Soccer Coaches preseason top 25 was released on Friday, and Iowa starts the season at #13. The Hawkeyes were ranked in the same poll every week last season…the first time that had been accomplished in program history.
Last season, the Hawkeyes amassed a 15-3-4 overall record, 8-2-1 in the Big Ten. Both records tied a program record for wins in a season. Iowa also hosted an NCAA Tournament game in back-to-back seasons for the first time ever.
Hawkeye fans took note of the success, with Iowa finishing the season 13th nationally in attendance and second in the Big Ten.
The Hawkeyes host Kansas in an exhibition match Friday afternoon at 1. Admission at the Iowa Soccer Complex is free. Iowa opens the regular season at Arkansas on Thursday, August 14th.
