An area transient was arrested this week after allegedly instigating a fight.

Officers responded to the 2300 block of Muscatine Avenue Tuesday just before 5pm on reports of a fight in progress.  48-year-old Ramon Duron was reportedly identified by witnesses as the primary aggressor in the altercation.  Duron also allegedly brandished a knife at another man during the incident.

A search incident to arrest reportedly located a clear bag with suspected meth  and a glass one-hitter pipe in a backpack.  A check of criminal records showed Duron has previous  controlled substance convictions in 2009, 2015 and 2018.

Duron was charged with a Class D possession violation, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Disorderly Conduct.  He faces over five years in prison if convicted on all counts.
