North Liberty Police have arrested a Cedar Rapids man they say threatened to shoot up a woman’s workplace.

25-year-old Asa Campbell of Harbet Avenue NW was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 12:45 Sunday morning. Campbell allegedly broke a no-contact order by texting the protected party multiple times on September 8th, 2022 where he threatened to shoot up the woman’s North Liberty workplace, then go to her residence to do the same thing. He also reportedly claimed to have a firearm.

Campbell is charged with Violating a Protective Order. Jail records show the sheriff’s office of Linn County, in which the no-contact order was issued, has placed a detainer. Campbell was recently on probation following a 2023 domestic abuse conviction in Dubuque County.
