A popular jam band has been tapped to play the University of Iowa’s annual free “welcome home” concert to open the 2025-26 academic year.

Goose is an alternative rock band formed in Connecticut in 2014. They’ve gained popularity as they’ve opened for Dead & Company, Trey Anastasio, and Bob Weir.

The concert is set for 8:20 on the night of Thursday, August 28th on the grass outside Hancher Auditorium. Gates open at 6:30, with the Hawkeye Drumline warming up the crowd at 8:00. Admission is free and the show is open to the public.

Select cuts from Goose’s new album Everything Must Go can be heard on our sister station, 99+ KFMH, which you can stream through the KCJJ app and through 99pluskfmh.com.
