A Cedar Falls man missed his chance at witnessing history Saturday night after an arrest at Kinnick Stadium right before kickoff of the Iowa-UMass game.

According to the police report, 20-year-old Hayden Foss appeared to be excessively intoxicated, swaying from side to side and standing inside the metal detector, blocking the way of foot traffic entering the stadium at approximately 6:30pm .  An officer approached Foss and reportedly observed bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech, and an overwhelming odor of alcohol emanating from his person.  He also allegedly had a confused state of mind when responding to questions.

Foss was asked for a PBT, but he reportedly said “I’m good,” and attempted to walk away.  He was detained and submitted to a post-arrest PBT showing his breath-alcohol level at .235 percent.

A subsequent search reportedly turned up a fake ID and a THC smoking device full of a brown liquid substance.

Foss was charged with public intoxication, possession of a fake ID and a controlled substance violation. He faces a possible jail term of up to 25 months if convicted on all counts.
