An overnight head-on collision on Interstate 380 in North Liberty has led to one injury as well as criminal charges against a wrong-way driver.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s office says 29-year-old Austin Vosdingh of 3rd Street SW in Cedar Rapids was driving his 2013 BMW 135i northbound in the southbound lanes near the Penn Street exit at 1:30 Saturday morning when he hit another vehicle head-on, breaking a bone of one of the victims.

Johnson County deputies say Vosdingh showed signs of intoxication, was wearing a bar wristband, and refused breath testing.

Vosdingh was arrested and charged with Serious Injury By Vehicle, Operating While Intoxicated, Driving on the Wrong Side of a Two-Way Highway, and Reckless Driving. If convicted on all counts, he faces a maximum of six years in prison.
