A construction worker has been injured while working on the Interstate 80 widening project near West Branch.
The Iowa State Patrol says 62-year-old John Sueper of Cedar Rapids was operating a 2021 Mack truck in the westbound construction zone just after 10:45 Tuesday morning when he backed into 43-year-old Stephanie Owen of Marion, who was working on foot. Owen suffered serious injuries and was transported to University of Iowa Health Care. Her condition has not been released.
The West Branch Fire Department and West Branch Police both assisted the State Patrol in the response and investigation.
