The Iowa City Police Department, in collaboration with the Consultation of Religious Communities, is collecting new or gently used winter clothing items until Friday, Oct. 10, 2025.
Donations will be accepted daily at the following locations:
Iowa City Police Department, 410 E. Washington St.
Iowa City Public Library, 123 S. Linn St.
Mercer Park Aquatic Center, 2701 Bradford Drive
Iowa City Fire Station 2, 301 Emerald St.
Iowa City Fire Station 4, 2008 N. Dubuque Road
Clothes will be distributed Wednesday October 15th through Saturday October 18th at the River Community Church on Muscatine Avenue.
Volunteers are needed to help with the distribution. Tasks include setting up, sorting donations, assisting families, restocking, and cleanup. People with language skills in Spanish, French, or Arabic especially welcome. People can register for shifts online at a link provided with this story on the KCJJ app and at 1630 KCJJ dot com.
