Iowa City man recently convicted on theft charges allegedly commits another offense

An Iowa City man who had been trespassed from a business and had been charged after returning to the store earlier this month now has been charged with theft from the business.

According to the arrest report, 49-year-old Carl White of Gilbert Court was at the Iowa City Walmart Thursday evening despite being trespassed from there back in 2024 and being issued another trespass citation there on October 9th.  White allegedly took merchandise from Walmart and left without making any attempt to pay for the items.

A check of White’s criminal record showed that he was convicted on two theft charges on September 19th.

White faces a 3rd degree Theft charge and now could be sentenced to up to two years in jail.
