Iowa City firefighters responded to a porch fire near downtown Thursday afternoon.
The fire was reported just after 3:15 p.m. at 605 East Burlington Street…near the corner of Burlington and Johnson Streets. The Daily Iowan reports the owner of the business next door was able to use a fire extinguisher to contain the fire to a small area of the porch. ICFD command was terminated just before 4:00.
No damage estimate has been released. None of the occupants was displaced.
