An Iowa City woman was arrested Sunday afternoon after allegedly getting into a fight, then hitting the victim with her vehicle.

Police were called to the 2200 block of Taylor Drive on reports of a motor vehicle accident with a pedestrian.  An investigation reportedly revealed that 45-year-old Antoinette Benton of Wayne Avenue had gotten into an argument inside a residence, then exited and got into a 2012 Dodge Caravan.

According to witnesses and the victim, Benton made a U-turn in the driveway, accelerated and hit the victim in the right leg.  She then allegedly got back into the vehicle and made threats to go get a gun and shoot the house and the victim.

Benton was taken into custody and charged with Assault while displaying a Dangerous Weapon and 1st degree Harassment.  If convicted on both counts, he could be sentenced to up to four years in prison.
