A Colorado man faces numerous charges after being kicked out of a downtown Iowa City nightclub, then allegedly fighting police and his own family.

Arrest records indicate 25-year-old Jacob Swenson of Boulder was physically removed from DC’s on the Ped Mall at 9:00 Friday night. Swenson was being restrained by his brother, father and mother as he reportedly tried to fight DC’s staff. Arriving officers told him to leave. Swenson’s family was trying to guide him back to the nearby Graduate Hotel when he allegedly began attacking them, striking his father and brother in the head and biting them. Swenson was then arrested, and police claim he began fighting them as well. Two officers report Swenson spitting in their faces and another claims he was kicked in the leg. Swenson also reportedly fought with deputies at the Johnson County Jail.

Swenson is charged with three counts of Assault on a Police Officer and one count each of 1st Degree Harassment, Disorderly Conduct, Public Intoxication and Trespassing. If convicted on all counts, he faces a maximum of over eight years in jail.
