A car fire blocked traffic on Highway 218 late Sunday night.
The Iowa City Fire Department was called to the burning vehicle on southbound Highway 218 between the Interstate 80 interchange and the Melrose Avenue exit just after 9:15 p.m. They were soon joined by fire crews from Tiffin and North Liberty.
The fire blocked the right lane for about two-and-a-half hours before normal traffic resumed just before 11:45 p.m. No other details about the fire have been released.
