An Iowa City man faces child endangerment and domestic abuse charges after an incident earlier this month.
Iowa City Police say 25-year-old Antoine Boles was at his Cross Park Avenue apartment just before 3:00 on the morning of November 6th when he grabbed the mother of his children and slammed her to the floor. He also allegedly slapped her in the face.
There were reportedly four children present at the time of the alleged assault, including two belonging to Boles and the victim. Two of the children are under five years of age.
Arriving officers say Boles initially refused to come out of his apartment, then hid in a bedroom with the children. Once taken into custody, Boles reportedly had bloody knuckles as well as a small baggie of marijuana in his pocket.
Boles is charged with Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Injury, Domestic Abuse Assault, Possession of Marijuana, Interference With Official Acts, and two counts of Child Endangerment. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of over six years in prison.
