A Columbus Junction man was arrested Saturday morning after a traffic stop turned up cocaine.
31- year-old Antonio Aguiilar of 3rd Street was stopped in Hills for an equipment violation at approximately 3:50am. Upon contact, the vehicle allegedly had the odor of marijuana, causing a probable cause search. Although asked several times, Aguilar allegedly refused to exit the vehicle.
Six individually packaged baggies containing approximately 11 grams of cocaine was reportedly discovered on Aguilar’s person.
Aguilar was taken into custody and charged with a controlled substance violation, failure to affix drug stamp, and interference with official acts. If convicted on all counts, he could face a prison sentence of over 15 years.
