A wanted burglary suspect was arrested at a pharmacy Monday night by Iowa City Police.
Officers report encountering 33-year-old Rena Rocqumore at the CVS on Muscatine Avenue just after 6:15p.m. and say they knew she had an active warrant. Rocqumore, a transient, is accused of breaking into an occupied unit at the Town & Campus Apartments on Arthur Street just after 7:30 on the night of December 1st. The resident said Rocqumore had no permission to enter, and that Rocqumore threatened to assault her. The woman fled to her bedroom, and Rocqumore reportedly kicked and damaged the bedroom door and threw a glass pan to the ground before leaving.
Police say Rocqumore had a glass pipe with residue on her person upon her arrest. She’s now charged with 2nd Degree Burglary and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. If convicted on both counts, she faces a maximum of over ten years in prison.
