Allegedly using a stolen credit card last summer has led to an Iowa City woman’s arrest.

40-year-old Monica Williams of the Town & Campus Apartments on Arthur Street was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 11:00 Wednesday night. Iowa City Police say on August 25th Williams and another person used a stolen credit card to make two purchases totaling $964.56 at the downtown Iowa City Target.

Williams is charged with Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card. If convicted, she faces a maximum of two years in jail.

Williams made news last year after she admitted to lying to 9-1-1 about a man pulling a gun on her on Cross Park Avenue. Video evidence showed the man never had a gun or threatened Williams, and she was fined $430 on a Making a False Report to Law Enforcement conviction.
