An Iowa City transient was arrested Friday afternoon due to several probation violations.

Just before 4pm, 28-year-old Orlanda Littlelight was observed as a passenger in a vehicle on Douglas Court and was known to have active warrants. When the vehicle was stopped, Littlelight allegedly got out without being instructed to and began to run off.  She was taken to the ground and placed in handcuffs.

A search allegedly discovered several used needles, a butane lighter, a scale with meth residue, and a clear plastic baggie containing a brown powder suspected to be meth.

A check of LIttlelight’s record showed two previous convictions for controlled substance violations earlier this year. She was charged with a third offense, as well as interference with official acts. If convicted, Littlelight could be sentenced to up to over five years in prison.
