Multiple agencies responded late Monday night to a large fire at a chicken confinement facility near Hills.
Records show firefighters from Hills, Kalona, Riverside, and Wellman were called to a two-alarm blaze at 3027 540th Street in rural Riverside just before 10 p.m. The Johnson County Ambulance Service was also dispatched, and UI Med 1 was put on standby.
The fire was extinguished within about a half-hour. No damage estimate has been released, and there are no reports of injuries.
