A Coralville man was taken into custody Tuesday evening after allegedly masturbating in public .
The incident occurred on the 400 block of 6th Avenue. According to police, Donald Jackson was in between apartment buildings on the eve of his 69th birthday when officers saw him masturbating in a public place.
Jackson was reportedly completely naked and multiple people were able to see him. When confronted, he allegedly admitted to officers he was masturbating for his pleasure.
Officers noted Jackson had multiple beer cans around him, and he reportedly had the strong odor of alcohol on his breath, slurred speech and unsteady balance. A PBT showed his breath-alcohol level at .115 percent.
Jackson was arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure, a serious misdemeanor punishable by a jail sentence of up to one year if convicted. He was also cited for Public Intoxication.
