A North Liberty man accused of threatening the mother of his children with a gun has reached a plea deal.

25-year-old Jeremiah Minter entered a guilty plea on Wednesday, although details are not listed in online records.

Minter is accused of confining the woman against her will at the couple’s North Front Street apartment on the night of November 5th, 2025.  North Liberty Police say at one point Minter put a gun to the woman’s head and chest, and later put it in her mouth. He reportedly told her that if anyone called the police, no one would be leaving the residence.

The couple’s three children were home at the time of the incident.

Minter was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault With Intent to Inflict Serious Injury, Dominion or Control of a Firearm as a Felon, False Imprisonment, and three counts of Child Endangerment. If convicted on all counts, he would have faced a maximum of 14 years in prison.

Sentencing is set for June 19th.
