A suspect faces charges that almost a decade ago he assaulted another man who he thought was taking pictures of children at an Iowa City apartment complex.
Iowa City Police say 51-year-old Phillip Holiday of the Town & Campus Apartments confronted the man near the mailboxes of the Arthur Street complex at about 1:30 on the afternoon of September 25th, 2016. The man denied photographing the children playing outside, and Holiday allegedly responded by telling the man to take off his glasses. The man refused, and Holiday allegedly punched him in the face, causing a cut and bruise to his lip.
A witness and the apartment manager were both able to identify Holiday, and a warrant for his arrest was issued on Halloween of 2016.
The warrant was finally served last week, and Holiday was booked into the Johnson County Jail and charged with Assault Causing Injury. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail.
