An Iowa City man was arrested after allegedly assaulting his stepdaughter while in his care.
The incident reportedly occurred at the Keokuk Street apartment of 31-year-old Josuer Vincent Sunday evening. According to the police report, Vincent repeatedly struck the victim on the arm and face with his hands. The girl stated that she experienced pain and feared for her immediate safety.
A witness corroborated the girl’s statement and said they witnessed the entire altercation.
VIncent was responsible for the girl while her mother was at work.
Police charged Vincent with Assault causing Bodily Injury and Child Endangerment. If convicted on both counts, he could be sentenced to up to three years in prison.
