The Eastern Iowa Airport will soon be upgrading its baggage handling area.
The U.S Department of Transportation announced a $6 million grant to the airport on Friday. The grant is to be used for what are described as improvements to the baggage handling system due to an increase in demand.
The $15.75 million funding bill also allocates money to airports in Des Moines, Burlington, and Fort Dodge.
