A Coralville woman has been arrested for using the banking information of a former employer to catch up on her rent.

Police say that on November 19th, 52 year-old Sharon Walker of Boston Way wrote the routing number and checking account number of Anaman Consierge Services LLC, a former employer, on a sheet of paper. She provided that paper to her landlord and told them to withdraw 2 $850 payments to catch up on her rent.

In a subsequent interview with Walker, she reportedly admitted to getting the banking information off of her paycheck and stated that she “messed up” by giving the information to her landlord. She added that she shouldn’t have done that because she didn’t have permission to do so.

A warrant was issued for her arrest on December 9th and she was booked into the Johnson County Jail early Wednesday morning. She’s charged with 2nd degree theft, a Class D felony punishable by a prison sentence of up to five years.
