An Iowa City woman has been taken into custody after allegedly only identifying herself as “Mystic” to an officer who contacted her about her driving status.
Police say that they observed 23-year-old Orlanda Littlelight of Erobi Lane behind the wheel of a Lexus around 2:45am Monday and recognized her from previous encounters. A query of her name showed her driving privileges as revoked. She parked at a gas station in the 2300 block of Muscatine Avenue and the officer contacted her and asked her to confirm her identity.
According to the arrest report, Littlelight would only identify herself as “Mystic,” and when asked to provide her legal name, said she was not willing to provide it to the officer.
Littlelight was charged with Providing False Identification Information, Harassment of a Public Official, and Driving while License Denied or Revoked. If convicted on all charges, she could be sentenced to up to 14 months in jail.
Littlelight made the news last October when she and her companion were found partially clothed in a running vehicle. Both occupants were reportedly passed out, and she was charged with her first OWI. She was given a deferred judgement and a year of probation. Then in February, she was pulled over because her plates didn’t match the vehicle she was driving. She was arrested for driving while revoked, and a pre-jail search reportedly found a half-pill of Xanax and drug paraphernalia. She allegedly told authorities she took the narcotic to help calm her down, and admitted that she didn’t have a prescription for it. A case management conference for those charges is scheduled for September 28th.
