Iowa ranked 5th in AP Preseason Poll

Iowa senior center Luka Garza was named Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year heading into the basketball season.
The honor was voted on by a panel of conference media members and announced Monday morning.
Garza was also a unanimous choice on the ten-member Preseason All-Big Ten Team, with junior guard/forward Joe Wieskamp also selected to the squad.
The Hawkeyes are ranked fifth in the Associated Press Men’s Basketball preseason poll, also announced Monday. It’s the highest preseason ranking for Iowa in 65 years.
