North English woman arrested after vehicle theft

A North English woman has been taken into custody after allegedly stealing a vehicle from a southwest Iowa City residence.

Police say 37-year-old Nicole Sanders of Redwood Avenue stole a vehicle from a property on 475^th Street Southwest the afternoon of August 25^th. Witnesses in the area reportedly identified Sanders and contacted the vehicle owner about the theft. The vehicle owner then contacted law enforcement.

Sanders allegedly stole the vehicle and other items from the home.

A warrant was issued for her arrest, and she was booked into the Johnson County Jail Monday evening. She’s been charged with 2^nd degree theft, a Class D felony punishable by a prison term of up to five years if convicted.
