An Iowa City woman has entered a written guilty plea after being arrested for an alleged assault that occurred at her former workplace last month.
According to police, the incident occurred at the Subway sandwich shop on South Riverside Drive during the noon hour on October 23rd. 31-year-old Lynda Eagans of Bittersweet Court, a former employee, reportedly came in to collect her check. When an employee working at the time told her to wait, Eagans allegedly became belligerent, throwing merchandise on the floor and knocking chairs over.
The employee requested that Eagans leave, at which time she’s accused of becoming further upset. She reportedly pushed the employee in his chest and tried to punch him. The employee dodged the punch, but Eagans allegedly kept throwing punches as the man pushed Eagans out of the shop.
A warrant was requested for her arrest. She was booked at the Johnson County Jail Sunday, and entered a written plea of guilty the next day. A sentencing date has not been scheduled; Eagans could face up to 30 days in jail.
