A North Liberty man wanted on harassment warrants was taken into custody early Monday.
According to arrest reports, 27-year-old Kiel Washington of Winchester Lane was asked to leave his worksite at Goodwill Industries in Iowa City on April 26th after an altercation with a supervisor.
The next day, the head of the department reportedly received 10 calls from Washington on his office phone. He answered one of the calls, and Washington allegedly stated, “You will pay for what you did yesterday. I will make you suffer big time as I beat your ass. You will be surprised how much you are going to hurt, and you won’t know I am coming.” The victim said he wrote notes after the call to remember as closely as he could what was said.
Also that day, the department head reportedly received a Facebook message from Washington that read “I’ll see you at Nike since u tough I’m gonna knock you out if I see you,” and urged him to “link up, since you think you can fight.”
A warrant was issued for Washington’s arrest on May 10th; he was taken into custody early Monday morning. He faces two counts of 2nd degree Harassment and could be sentenced to up to two years in jail if convicted on the charges.
