Coralville Police have charged a woman they say threw an alcohol bottle, a lava lamp, and cat food at the father of her child.
According to arrest records, last Monday night 55-year-old Carrie Latham was involved in an argument with the alleged victim and the couple’s adult daughter just after 11:00. The three are currently living together in the Western Hills Estates manufactured housing community.
Police say Latham began throwing items at the other two, including a bottle of alcohol, a lava lamp, and cat food. The father was struck and suffered injuries to his back.
Latham, who has previous convictions for domestic abuse, willful injury, and forgery, now faces a charge of Domestic Abuse Assault – 2nd Offense. If convicted, she faces a maximum of two years in jail.
