Bridge structures on Derby and Greencastle Avenues closed until further notice

Johnson County, Iowa – Bridge structures P-34-2 on Derby Avenue SW just south of 560th St SW and M-18-1 on Greencastle Avenue SW just south of IWV Rd SW will close to all traffic at 4:00 p.m. on April 11, 2025. These structures had previously been posted for a maximum of three (3) ton load restrictions and are inspected frequently. The most recent inspection showed advancing deterioration even with those precautions, necessitating their closure.

Both structures are included in the County’s approved five-year program and are scheduled for replacement on an expedited basis.
