An Iowa City man who had a disagreement with the owner of the business he was working for was arrested after the argument escalated.

The incident occurred on the 500 block of Southgate Avenue May 28th.  That afternoon, 27-year-old Joshua Tolbert was sitting in his work truck when he and the business owner got into an argument.  When the business owner opened the door of the truck, Tolbert allegedly punched him, which knocked him to the ground.

Tolbert then reportedly got out of the truck and punched the business owner several more times while he remained on the ground. The man allegedly suffered several minor injuries, including a broken thumb.

Tolbert was arrested and charged with Assault causing Bodily Injury. He could be sentenced to up to a year in jail if convicted.
