A resident of the tent encampment at Shelter House on Southgate Avenue was charged with assault during a late night altercation.

At approximately 12:46am Thursday, 42-year-old Stacey Elliot approached the area of the victim’s tent and started yelling. The man got out of his tent and asked Elliot to be quiet and to leave. Elliot then allegedly approached the ma, grabbed onto the front of his shirt, and dragged him to the ground, ripping his collar in the process.

When the man got back up on his feet, Elliot reportedly punched him in the head three times, giving the victim a headache.

Elliot was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail if convicted. She was released on her own recognizance later that day pending arraignment.
