The City of Swisher announced that Division Street will be closed for over a week beginning Monday due to damage caused by a contractor.
According to a post on the city’s Facebook page, the damage was caused last fall during the sewer maintenance project. It was discovered that an Alliant electrical conduit had been completely bored through the city’s sanitary sewer. While it did not block the sewer completely, it does need to be repaired.
If everything goes to plan, the city hopes to have the road opened back up on August 26th. Motorists are urged to use caution in the area.
