The Iowa Insurance Fraud Bureau is accusing an Iowa City woman of lying on a claim.
38-year-old Ashley Williams was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 7:45 Saturday night. Arrest records indicate Williams bought a policy from Progressive on February 2nd, 2024. Four days later, she filed claim on a car accident in Solon she said occurred on February 5th. But photos of the damaged vehicle sent to Progressive reportedly had metadata showing they were taken on January 27th…six days before Williams purchased the policy.
Williams is now charged with Insurance Fraud. If convicted, she faces a maximum of five years in prison.
