Iowa City Police say a criminal mischief suspect urinated in front of them while they were interviewing him during their investigation.

Officers were called to an address on the 300 block of East Davenport Street for a fight in progress just after 10:45 Friday night. Investigators say 63-year-old transient Benjamin Gordon had kicked in an apartment door, causing $315 in damage. Police say Gordon showed signs of intoxication and at one point urinated in the street while speaking with officers. Gordon was taken into custody, and he was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana and a crack pipe with burnt residue.

Gordon is charged with 4th Degree Criminal Mischief, Possession of a Controlled Substance – 3rd or Subsequent Offense, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Public Intoxication. If convicted on all counts, he faces a maximum of over six years in jail.
