Iowa City man charged after burglary and stabbing incident

An Iowa City man was recently arrested after allegedly breaking into another man’s apartment and stabbing him while taking his cellphones.

According to the arrest report, Michael Chlebowski of the Town and Campus Apartments on Arthur Street committed the offense at an apartment in his building. On the evening of October 13th, Chlebowski reportedly entered the apartment armed with a knife. He confronted the resident in a bedroom and demanded his cellphones.

Chlebowski also allegedly threatened to stab the man before making good on the threat, lunging at him and stabbing him before fleeing the apartment.

Chlebowski has been charged with 1st degree Burglary, a Class B Felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
