An area transient was taken into custody after allegedly renting a generator and failing to return it.
Details from the arrest report indicate 44-year-old Tyronn Pierre Manuel provided his Iowa ID at Big Ten Rental and signed a contract to rent a generator in May of this year. When the date came for Manuel to return the generator, he reportedly did not bring it back and could not be reached by the rental facility.
An investigation determined that Manuel’s Iowa ID contained an invalid address.
Manuel never brought the generator back to Big Ten Rental, who sustained a loss of about $3500.
A warrant was issued for Manuel’s arrest on September 5th; he was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with 2nd degree Theft. If convicted, he faces a prison term of up to five years.
