MANDATORY BOIL ORDER IN EFFECT
The City of West Liberty is issuing a Boil Order for utility customers located between 100 and 400 W 4th Street, effective immediately.
This order is issued pursuant to Iowa Code Chapter 455B and Iowa Administrative Code 567-40, following guidance from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
What You Must Do:
Until further notice, all water used for the following purposes must be boiled for at least one full minute:
- Drinking
- Cooking
- Brushing teeth
- Washing dishes
- Food preparation
Alternatively, bottled water may be used.
Reason for the Order:
This mandatory boil order is being issued due to lost water pressure during the repair of the water main that feeds the affected area. Water testing is underway, and the order will remain in effect until the system is cleared and water quality is confirmed safe.
