An Iowa City woman was allegedly found with marijuana when arrested on a warrant stemming from an assault case earlier this year.

On the afternoon of July 6th, 18-year-old Ania Lindsey of Westwinds Drive reportedly followed another person into a bathroom at the Mercer Park Aquatic Center. The person was trying to hid from Lindsey, who allegedly shook and pounded on the bathroom stall door, yelling at the victim.

Lindsey was also reportedly present when the victim was assaulted by several people.  The victim was unable to say who specifically assaulted her due to the nature of the assault.

A warrant was issued for Lindsey’s arrest, and she remained at large until just before 1am Sunday, when she was a passenger stopped for speeding on North Dubuque Street.  Upon contact, an odor of raw marijuana was allegedly detected. All occupants were removed from the vehicle, and a THC vape pen was reportedly found where Lindsey was sitting.

She was charged with marijuana possession as well as disorderly conduct for the July incident. If convicted on both counts, Lindsey could be sentenced to up to 13 months in jail.
