A West Branch man incarcerated on harassment and disorderly conduct charges faces additional possible jail time after allegedly assaulting a fellow inmate.

The incident occurred Monday morning at the jail.  38-year-old Chad Wambold was observed by deputies on top of the victim, striking them in the back of the head.  While being told by a deputy to get off him, Wambald reportedly kicked the victim. The man received a bloody nose, and red marks on his shoulder and back.

Wambold was taken into custody December 18th after allegedly getting into a dispute with bar patrons at TCB pool hall, yelling abusive epithets and threatening to kill one patron.

If convicted on the assault charge from Monday, Wambold could be sentenced to up to a year in jail. The other charges come with a maximum sentence of 25 months if convicted.
