An estimated 250 pigs died in a hog confinement fire near Wellman Thursday afternoon.
Firefighters from Wellman, Kalona, Williamsburg and North English descended on the facility on Y Avenue around 1:00 p.m. The building was a total loss, and an estimated 250 hogs were killed.
