A patient at University of Iowa Health Care is accused of inappropriately touching a female staffer while making sexual comments.
63-year-old Brett Ayers of the Town & Campus Apartment on Arthur Street was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 1:00 Friday afternoon. University of Iowa Police say Ayers was being seen at the UIHC Emergency Department on Hawkins Drive Wednesday night when he allegedly touched the breast of a hospital security guard while she was helping him on with his gown. He also reportedly made sexual comments toward the woman while patting her on the head.
Ayers is charged with Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations. If convicted, he faces a maximum of two years in jail.
