Iowa City Police have arrested a woman they say assaulted a Casey’s employee with cookware.
29-year-old Lana Rae Jensen Prestridge of the Breckenridge Estates manufactured housing community on Taft Avenue was booked into the Johnson County Jail at 9:15 Saturday night. Jensen Prestridge is accused of waiting in the dumpster enclosure of the Broadway Street Casey’s with a co-defendant just after 10:00 last Sunday night, then attacking the victim as they were taking out the garbage.
Jensen Prestridge allegedly repeatedly hit the man over the head with a metal cooking pot and shoved him into a wall, causing pain to the man’s head and shoulder. The two suspects know the reported victim and had been at his residence earlier in the day.
Jensen Prestridge was taken into custody after Iowa City Police pulled over her 2005 Dodge Caravan on Davis Street near Burns Avenue just after 8:15 Saturday night because it did not have license plates. Jensen Prestridge, who allegedly admitted to last weekend’s attack, is now charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury, Driving While Barred, and Driving While Revoked. If convicted on all counts, she faces a maximum of three years in jail.
