A Keystone Iowa man caught driving without license plates faces jail time after police found a prohibited weapon in his vehicle.

Officers observed 40-year-old Brandon Railsback driving a Jeep Patriot without plates just after 9:15pm Wednesday near the intersection of Birkdale Court and Melrose Avenue. A traffic stop was conducted, and a check of his criminal record showed his driving status as barred.

During a custodial search post-arrest, officers found a piece of drug paraphernalia on his person as well as paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle. Railsback also had a set of brass knuckles on him, and with a previous felony conviction, he was ineligible to possess them.

Railsback was charged with Driving while Barred, Possession of Dangerous Weapons as a Felon, and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on all counts, he could be sentenced to over three years in prison.
