An Arkansas man was arrested last week after North Liberty Police were alerted that he was driving a stolen car.

Officers were notified by Flock about a possible stolen vehicle coming into North Liberty the afternoon of April 23rd. Police located the unoccupied vehicle in the parking lot of a restaurant and received confirmation that it was indeed stolen. They also advised that 30-year-old Sonny Harper of Mulberry Arkansas was believed to be the person who stole the vehicle.

A short time later, Harper left the restaurant, walked to the vehicle and started to drive away before officers stopped him from leaving the parking lot. Harper stated he bought the vehicle from the reporting party, but had no proof of a transaction.

He was arrested and charged with 2nd degree Theft. If convicted, Harper faces up to five years in prison.
