A Cedar Rapids man has been arrested after North Liberty Police say he made threats during a dispute over a television.

According to arrest records, 36-year-old Bernard Hilliard of 4th Avenue SE entered a Front Street residence without permission just after 9:45 last Saturday night and threatened to shoot one of the residents. The dispute was over possession of a television Hilliard and the alleged victim had purchased while they were in a relationship.

The resident told police they were frightened for their and their children’s safety.

A witness corroborated the allegations, and Hilliard reportedly admitted to being at the location at the time of the incident.
