CIty release (edited)
05/19/26
For many years, Memorial Day weekend marked the opening of North Liberty’s outdoor pool for the summer season, but this year it’s delayed and the city cannot yet set an opening date.
The pool, which is more than 20 years old, requires weather-dependent repainting. The contractor cannot complete work before three rain-free days. Once the pool has been repainted, it will require another couple of weeks for the paint to cure, the pool to be filled, and the final staff training to be completed. Once this work has been completed, the city will provide an undated timeline for opening.
To check the pool’s status now or, once it’s open, before you arrive, you can visit Rainout Line to find out if it’s operating normally or if an issue has required a closure. You can check the status at northlibertyiowa.org/poolstatus or by calling (319) 888-8348 extension 1.
Those with pool-access memberships can enter at 12 p.m. AThose without monthly or annual pass can enter at 1 p.m. The daily fee is $6.
The splashpad at Penn Meadows Park opens for the season over Memorial Day weekend. The splashpad at Centennial Park will open for summer 2027.
