The discovery of a meth lab in southwest Iowa City has led to one arrest.
Investigators discovered a one pot meth lab and the remnants of several others just before 4:15pm Tuesday inside a backpack behind a residence on Mineral Point Lane in the Lake Ridge manufactured housing community. An investigation determined that the backpack had been placed there by 39-year-old Ryan Brown, who lives in a nearby trailer.
Brown was taken into custody by University Heights Police and booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 2:45 Thursday afternoon. He’s charged with a Controlled Substance Violation. If convicted, he faces a maximum of 25 years in prison.
Brown was also charged with multiple no-contact violations after he allegedly called the victim and left multiple voicemails and text messages. GPS also tracked his phone to near the victim.
